This case study explores the design journey of XSEED Universal, a parent-school communication platform, focusing on how it evolved from a digital report card concept into a comprehensive tool for stakeholders.
XSEED Education is an Ed-tech organisation specialising in K-8 learning solutions. Their offerings include curriculum design, teacher training, and assessment tools aimed at enhancing classroom outcomes for schools and students.
Originally envisioned as a digital report card, XSEED Universal expanded during research into a holistic communication platform. This project marked my first end-to-end ownership of design, requiring close collaboration with product managers and stakeholders to align features with user needs.
The initiative emerged from a critical gap: schools and parents lacked a unified system to track academic progress, extracurricular activities, and event schedules. Existing methods—scattered messages, paper-based report cards, and disjointed digital tools—created confusion and inefficiency.
XSEED Universal aimed to consolidate these fragmented channels into a single platform, empowering parents with real-time insights and fostering collaboration between schools and families.
